My great-grandfather James, along with his brother Charles, aspired to be a successful farmer. Over decades they bought and sold parcels of farmland, but eventually ended up estranged from each other. Sometime near his death a family member snapped this shaky image of him from behind. In this piece he seems to be buried beneath the rich farmland he once owned in Minnesota.
