Through a Glass Darkly
Through a Glass Darkly
Photographs and transparencies

In this series of photographs the eyes of several of my ancestors are visible in transparency, hovering over locations that they knew in life. They simultaneously seem to be looking at the landscapes and looking at the viewer in the present. Recently I went to stand in the locations tied to these ancestors, searching for a tangible clue or connection to how their stories have helped form who I am.

“For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” 1 Corinthians 13:12
