The photograph is commonly regarded as a true window to the past, a reliable aid to memory. In my work it is also an outlet for invention and imagination. The viewfinder is the most important tool I use to construct my own versions of reality. I have also staged objects and people for the camera and have used paint, collage, and digital techniques to build my own fictional worlds. I create photographic tableaux that invite viewers to reconsider the relationship between perception and reality.
