I photographed the series Urban Memories with an old imperfect camera that envelops subjects in a hazy light suggestive of another era. Into these settings I merged figures and objects appropriated from texts on urban history. Their incongruous appearance in these new locales has the quality of a dream, or an event from the past materializing in the present.
